Queensland’s Business Basics Grant Program provides various businesses with support and funding to “boost core skills” and “adopt best practice”.
Eligible activities include training, web development, and strategic marketing services, the latter of which includes Search Engine Optimisation.
This week, we take a closer look at the Grant, including who’s eligible, and share our very own special offer to help you unlock the power of SEO for your business!
What kinds of marketing or business services are available?
As we touched on above, the Grant supports the following services:
- Training and coaching
- Website build or upgrades
- Professional business advice
- Strategic marketing services
- Business continuity and succession
The funding that is available is a “single, up-front fixed grant payment of $5,000 (excluding GST)”.
However, funding will not be granted if payments are made before 17 May 2021 or if there is a total cost of less than $5,000 (excluding GST).
Who is eligible for Queensland’s Business Basics Grants Program?
In order to be eligible, your business must:
- Have less than 20 employees
- Have an annual turnover of less than $300k (for the current financial year)
- Be based in Queensland or have a Queensland headquarters
- Hold an ABN
- Be registered for GST
- Not be experiencing insolvency or undischarged bankruptcy

How can you apply? And when are applications open?
Applications open on the 31st May – so you’ve still got a few days to check eligibility and prepare your application!
We recommend reading key documents including the application guidelines, and also preparing all required documentation, which includes a certified statutory declaration from the business’s owner or director accordingly.
Applications will close when sufficient applications are received or on 30th June – whichever comes first!
The application form will be available here from 31st May.
